Xlendi Bay is a popular swimming, snorkelling, and diving spot. The entrance to Xlendi Cave is found just 2 metres deep on the cliffside. Because of its shallow depth, this is a popular place for night dives. Starfish, sponges, goatfish, damsel, and carinal fish abound in the cave. Divers can surface from various locations around the cave, making it a safe environment for divers of all levels. Covering the cave at the start of the dive and swimming through the tunnel exit on the far side of the cliff, and then following the cliff face to the back of Xlendi Bay makes for an intriguing dive. Large shoals of barracuda can frequently be seen along the Xlendi reef during the summer months.
