Merkanti Reef is a small diving spot off the coast of Malta’s northeastern city of St. Julian’s. The dive can be done without diving deeper than 10-12 meters, while depths of over 20 meters are achievable. Merkanti Reef is divided into two sections that run parallel to one other and parallel to the beach. The tops of both are just touching the ground, and the farther one has a marker pole. There are many little overhangs, crevices, nooks and crannies around the two parts of the reef, as well as in the canyon between them, where divers can find a variety of marine species.
