Marsalforn, on Gozo’s north coast, is home to the Double Arch dive site. The name Double Arch comes from two natural arches that are built on top of one other. The site can be reached by boat or from the shore (about a 10-minute dive/surface swim from Xwejni Bay). The reef’s uppermost parts are at depths of 15 to 18 meters, while the arches begin at a depth of 20 meters. The depth under the arches is 34 meters, and the depth at the end of the reef is 45 meters. Near the arch, there are a few small caves, as well as a larger cave a little further out. Large shoals of barracudas, as well as occasionally gigantic groupers, can be spotted near the arch.
