Adrian Spiteri is the Founder & Sole Proprietorship of Acre Slabs. In August 2019, Adrian decided to try his luck and open the doors to business. Mr Spiteri grew up working by his father’s side at a young age. Therefore he grew up loving this industry. His father has taught him the proper way how to build and design any furniture. Carpentry falls under the construction industry like many others. Unfortunately, today, the number of local carpenters has decreased due to imported ready-made furniture.
Adrian said, “It started as a hobby. However, today, I cannot imagine myself not doing this job”. At first, he started doing furniture for himself and his family. But after some years, his friends wanted him to do all their furniture for their new home.
Acre Slabs are mainly known for the use of solid wood in nearly all their project they do. Acre Slabs are a small company with a big vision; they can build any custom furniture you imagine. Adrian knows that many competitors are out there, but he believes he can offer a better client experience regarding prices and deadlines.
This company have invested in CNC machinery. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. Ta manufacturing procedure in which pre-programmed computer software dictates the movement of tools and machinery. These tools can be cut or engraved in metals such as aluminium, brass, copper, steel, titanium, fibreglass, and plastics.
Acre Slabs are also famous for its resin furniture, loose furniture, and wall art. Resin furniture is trendy nowadays. When compared to plastic, the resin is more of a natural form. Plastic is either synthetic or semi-synthetic. The most common furniture sold by Acre Slabs is wood and resin tabletops. These tabletops are unique and used indoors and outdoors because they are durable. These resin products are given a protective gloss during the manufacturing process. Once finished, the manufactured product will be more resistant to chips, cracks, scratches, and burns.
Adrian is creating unique products you do not usually find in Malta, like resin works, kids playing items such as a learning tower, Montessori beds and much more.
Adrian says they offer reliable and durable furniture at an affordable price. This company focuses mainly on residential products; however, any business can require custom-made furniture for their offices, receptions and especially board rooms. They build furniture as they are making it for their own homes. Acre Slabs do not cut corners and don’t use cheap materials.
They build their furniture with the best raw material available. Acre Slabs only use the best quality and high standards for all the furniture fittings (designer fittings). Acre Slabs believe they can continue to manufacture cheaper products but higher quality than the max-produced furniture. Customers realised that there is a fine line between low-cost and high-quality furniture. Adrian’s favourite quote is, “If you can imagine it, we can build it.”
They know they are doing something right because the same customer is coming back and bringing other new customers with them. Adrian wants to satisfy all of these clients and always ensures that all the furniture leaving his workshop is high quality. The only returning customers are those making another order.
