St Simon Veterinary Practice

Dr. Anthony Gruppetta read veterinary medicine at the Universita Degli Studi Di Perugia, Italy where he graduated Dottore in Medicina Veterinaria in 1987. His practice has always been a mixed small and large animal practice. Dr Joseph Gruppetta was the first secretary of the Malta Veterinary Association and was the Chair of the Maltese Veterinary Council from 2007 to 2011. He set up the treatment and rehabilitation of marine turtles in 1999 and maintains this service and rehabilitation of other wild animals.

Dr. Mauro Buttigieg studied Veterinary Medicine at the Universita’ degli Studi di Perugia, Italy. From 1997 to 2004 he worked as a Veterinary Officer in Malta. In 2015 he was awarded a PhD in Livestock Health and Production from an Italian university. Dr Joseph Buttigieg has been appointed to the post of Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Earth Systems, University of Malta. He has been involved in lecturing at Diploma, BSc. and Masters’s levels at the Division of Rural Sciences & Food Systems since 2004.
